Senior Collection: Phantom

Annual Purdue Fashion Show 2012

Awarded Best in Show

This collection was inspired by the legend of the Phantom of the Opera, as described in Gaston Leroux's book, which was inspired by real events that remain a mystery to this day.

 

In addition to being a full-time student, I was working 30+ hours a week as an assistant manager at the local mall to finance my degree.  I successfully completed my personal challenge to design and construct thirteen full looks, including three ball gowns and a menswear look.

Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Created illustrations and technical flats for all final designs

  • Fabric and trim sourcing

  • Pattern drafting | draping

  • Garment construction

  • Fit checking

  • Selected models from student volunteers and arranged meetings/fittings throughout the year

  • Senior lead in charge of music production for the show
